Is there something I’m not getting? I’d appreciate any help. While Drumkit From Hell was tailored for metal bands and musicians, Superior Drummer 2.0 featured a sound library that was suitable for a wider range of musical styles. None of these settings have made any great difference to the problems which I have been experiencing however. Users of the original Drumkit from Hell virtual instrument were no doubt surprised at the direction taken by creator Toontrack in their last major offering, Superior Drummer 2.0.

I’ve also tried manually setting up the Hi-Hat at the mapping section. I have set the Note Mapping to E-Drums Roland and I’ve tried setting the Controller to E-Drums as well as CC-offset. I believe that I have made the correct settings already, both on the module and in SD. It has also occured that if I continuously step on the Hi-Hat (simply in order to keep the rhythm), it triggers a normal open Hi-Hat stroke (not a “pedal” sound), which quickly gets choked. For example, if I play a continuous pattern on the open Hi-Hat and then close it slightly (not completely closing the Hi-Hat), or play relatively fast patterns opening and closing the Hi-Hat frequently, it gets choked and does not act as anticipated. It will get the job done for the majority of rock and pop applications. The stock kit that comes packaged with Superior Drummer is a sample of the old Avatar Studio in New York City. The Hi-Hat triggers the right signals, but it doesn’t do so naturally. You can get a number of different drum and studio emulations with this V.I. I’m running it in Toontrack Solo and also Pro Tools LE 8.05.

Once the download is complete click the install button to install the library.I’ve had Superior Drummer 2.32 for about two weeks now and all of the equipment, except for the VH 11 Hi-Hat, work perfectly. This download will take considerably longer to complete as the library is nearly 19 gigs. This is found directly below Superior Drummer 2 in the Product manager. The product manager will then take you through the steps of downloading installing, authorizing and updating your Superior Drummer 2 software. You can scroll through the list or use the “Not Installed” filter on the left.

You can skip this step if you have already registered or if Superior was automatically registered to your account after purchasing directly from.
